This month ends in 00d 00h 00m 00s

Their kids waited three years for Dad to come home. Now they're waiting for food on the table.

He came home. But the overdraft grew with every call-up, and the business he had three years ago is gone.

600+IDF reservists and their families on our waiting list

2023 · 2026

The war ended for the news. Not for them.

A three-year-old who saw his father mostly on a phone screen. An older sister who learned to stop asking when he'd be back, because the answer was always the same.

A wife who held everything together alone. Kindergarten, school, the bills, and the fear she never lets the kids see.

The standing orders still came out on the first of the month while he was in the field.

The question he never says out loud
is whether there will be enough on the table for his kids.

What $180 does

A food voucher for one soldier's family

  • A cart that goes through the checkout without counting twice.
  • A child who won't hear “not now” in the supermarket aisle.
  • Families reach us through a unit commander, a neighbor or a kindergarten teacher. No forms, no committee.

It won't erase the overdraft, and it won't give back three years of rotations. It puts food on the table this week.

Three years of rotations, and the hardest battle is waiting at home

Reserve duty compensation is calculated on what he earned before he was called up, not on what his family needs today.

It doesn't cover rent on a business that stood idle, and it doesn't arrive as a food voucher. Whatever falls through those cracks stays with the family.

Who we are

“Otzma LaChayal” brings food vouchers to the families of IDF reservists after three years of rotations.

We don't wait for a family to ask, because a reservist's family doesn't ask. They reach us through a unit commander, a neighbor, a kindergarten teacher who noticed a child arriving without food. We make sure the need is real, and the voucher goes home.

“Otzma LaChayal” operates under Netina BeClick, a registered Israeli nonprofit with a certificate of proper management. The project has its own donation link, so every dollar goes only to the vouchers.

Every voucher that goes out shortens the waiting list by one name
